Had to do two today as I promised that we would talk about how to get more veggies painlessly into your diet.
Let’s just talk about breakfast today.
I know a lot of you skip breakfast.
Jump out of bed, get dressed and rush out the door.
Sound like you?
I make it a point to have breakfast every day!
No excuses, always.
Making a veggie stuffed omelette takes just a few minutes.
No fussing just a great meal.
As I am making my lunch the veggies I slice go into a separate bowl for my omelette.
So if I am making a salad for lunch some of the sliced avocados, tomato and spinach will get tossed into the eggs for a healthy and delicious breakfast.
Multitasking for a healthy lifestyle and a healthy you is a must!
I don’t want you to have any reasons not to get healthy.
Boil up half a dozen eggs and toss them in the fridge.
Grab one in the morning with an apple or other fruit and you are ready to go.
If you are a cereal eater then fill your bowl with cereal the night before.
Just add milk in the morning and two minutes off your time so you can make a healthy lunch.
Any way that you can find to save a little time in the morning but still make time for breakfast is going to serve you well.
Like to have fresh bread with peanut butter?
Get yourself an automatic bread maker machine and set it to cook overnight.
I mean, what is better than fresh bread in the morning!
When you make it yourself you can control the ingredients so it is bound to be better than that muffin you picked up on the way into work.
Sunday is my baking day so I always know when I get up that that is what I am doing.
This week it was banana bread and two loaves of bread.
While the banana bread was cooking and the bread was rising I threw in a load of laundry.
By the time all the loaves were done the laundry was finished and put away and it wasn’t even noon yet.
Still had the rest of the day to sort out how my week was going to be and what I was really looking forward to.
So what is your excuse today?
How about dedicating one week to breakfast every day?
Do you think you can?
Remember, your body has been fasting for 6-12 hours.
It is looking for some protein to kick start all those brain cells you are going to be using.
Give it a boost and try something new!
A friend of mine has a jar of nut butter on her counter with a spoon sitting beside it.
On busy mornings she has a couple of spoonfuls with an apple and she is good to go.
Come to think of it, one of my daughters does that too, clever girl!
No one in my house leaves without breakfast.
We always find a way.
It is much easier to fill up in the morning than get to work on coffee and then run out on your first break and grab a calorie-rich muffin, danish or bagel.
Start thinking about the habits you want to change when it comes to your food and let me know what is working for you!
To your health!
